Reggae Fest 2010, Auditorium Shores - Wonderful compliment

The customer that bought this print of Montreal, Canada told me that she felt "honored" to own a print of my photography. Very sweet. Many others gave me amazing compliments on my photography which was surprising at this venue since most of the kids were looking for 'reggae' type photography. No matter how many times you hear these wonderful compliments, they always feel like the first time and always makes me feel great!!!

Reggae Fest 2010, Auditorium Shores - Funny moment...

I've never seen more kids/fans dedicated to a festival... It started pouring, I mean p-o-u-r-i-n-g rain when the kids were already in line to get into the festival. They didn't complain, just remained in line until the gates opened and they were let inside. This picture is from later on that day when it started to rain again (had great sunshine all afternoon in between the morning and evening rainstorms) and I saw a tarp with feet sticking out the bottom. I ran after this 'walking tarp' and took this quick picture before me and my camera got wet. You get the visual of this funny scnene... :)

A couple of more happy customers...
Her friend said this girl used to model... you can tell, look at her pose! Awesome!
This girl came back to change into the wrap after she purchased it. She had on sneakers, t-shirt and pants before... came back with the tank top and flip flops and asked me to dress her so she can wear out her new wrap!

SXSW - happy customers

Meet little Azula... such a beautiful child... came into my booth and knew right away she wanted a wrap for herself... picked this out and asked me to dress her so she can wear it immediately. I found out the day after her visit that a friend of mine knows her and her parents... and apparently, Azula and her mom went inside Guero's and the owner of Guero's took pics of her since they're friends and Azula looked for pretty!
More happy customers...

Homemade wrapping paper

This is a wrapping job I did for my friend's birthday gift. I've been doing this wrapping style for years and years, more than I can count... I use paper grocery bags, turn them inside out, and then paint it whichever color/s I feel like... and use that as the wrapping paper. I top it off with dried flowers or some type of greenery (this was leaves/branches from my backyard) and use candle wax to keep the pretties together in place and to add the accent. It's like every wrapping is a work of art!
These are the earrings I made for my friend as her birthday gift. She LOVES fleur-de-lis and all of her jewelry that she wears are simple and classy so I made these to fit her taste and style. She LOVED them and put them on immediately upon opening!!!

Black Heritage Festival - February 6, 2010

This was one of the cutest little girls I'd ever seen, especially eating her roasted corn, taking huge bites and then trying to take more bites while pieces of the kernels taken in previous bites were still in her mouth... she was soooooo cute so I had to take a quick snap shot of her. Overall, the Black Heritage Festival was really great. Such nice people, really caring about their community and all coming together as a team... the line up of events throughout the day was inspiring and just a joy to watch. Being a vendor set up right in the middle of the lot gave me a great view of the stage from their Preacher's speech to the award shows to the "prayer dancers" to the teenager kids putting together freestyle rhymes, R&B songs, spoken word and the awesome dj who also performed his own thing! Just a really fun event! So glad I was part of it!
